Bill’s Babblings #11

Yes I am on Amelia Island having a short 2 day vacation with my lovely wife.  Thank you again to our wonderful friends who helped us out by watching our kids.  So all that to say this post will be short.  Here are my quick babblings from this week.

  • A few weeks ago I mentioned from the stage how important it is that even during the summer season we continue to build relationships with people who do not come to church.  And nearly every week (this week included)  I was able to meet more new people you are inviting.  Great job.
  • I really like the last week of Mama and Them.  What a great message.  Some areas of it hit me hard.  If you missed it, I’d encourage you to go here click resources and download it.
  •  It’s a little sad to say goodbye to Mama and Them videos.  It’s been so much fun getting to know those characters.
  • I had “Danny Song” in my head all day yesterday due to the other video.  Thanks Kelley.
  • DON’T FORGET Volunteer Banquet is Sunday night 6pm.  You will not want to miss this.  It is being held at the Sharpsburg campus.  If this will be your first time at the Sharpsburg Campus please let me know and I’d love to take time and show you around.  I would love to have 100 people from the Madras campus show up.  So let’s talk it up and get everyone there.
  • If you like NASCAR our next series starting June 15th is for you.  It’s called “In the Groove”.  In Nascar that is very important but what does it mean to be “In the Groove” when it comes to our walk with God.
  • Had a very interesting talk with 4 people last night over dinner about how the church today is so out of touch with today culture.  (3 of them never attend church)  It was cool to see their amazement when I mentioned we use SNL skits and play Journey and Rascal Flatts in our service.  If you ever wondered why we do some of the things we do in a service all you have to do be with me at dinner last night.  I also said, “we are a church for people who don’t like church” and they just thought that was the greatest thing they ever heard.

Well the beach and Frisbees are calling my name so I gotta go.  I’ll be back in the office Wednesday.  Look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday at church and at the banquet.
